heating

No heat at all is no better. Did you do an research before acquiring this snake, or did you just bring it home because it looked neat?

I posted the answer on your other thread. You really only have to ask it once, because a lot of us are browsing both threads, and we'll see your question if you post it in one place instead of 2.

Most of us live in different places. Some of us are even on different continents. The only way for us to know how much these things cost in your area, is to use Google to look it up.

You can do this for yourself. Probably more efficiently, as you'll be able to search by the names of reptile and pet stores in your area. And you could have done it in the time it took you to post the question.

You say you did research but you don't know the cost of anything and you thought a heat lamp was better for the corn than the uth.
Ha.
Next time, before you buy a pet, make sure you have the proper costs to satisfy it's needs. Don't just buy it because you think it looks cool.

I hope this snake escapes to the outside world. It has a better chance out there than it does with this child.

You know this child is 12. He is asking questions. I dont think we need to put him down anymore.

solrwind, do more research for the health of your snake. Have your mom come on here and talk to us and we can tell her what you need for your snake for it to be healthy and live a longer life!

This will stop now. If it continues infractions will be handed out.
Just because we do not agree with someone is not an excuse for this kind
of posting to be made. I hope I am clear on this for everyone.

Hmmm Not sure how to say this but the way I see it is when you have a forum like this it shouldn't be open to people who are not "adults". Certain internet etiquette isn't follow here because of the age factor.

This person is asking for advice on things that they can even afford on their own. We ask this person to do some research. Not to many 12 years olds know how to even go about that so hows that going to happen.

It gets frustrating. Who do you get upset with tho, the child or the parent who not helping.

The Parent! Seriously! There really are not very many 12 yr olds that have the ability to afford a pet snake. It is the parents responsibility to maker sure animals in their house get what they need. If animal welfare stopped by and saw that your 12 yr old's dog was starving, its not the 12 yr old that goes to jail or is fined, it is the adult.

That being said, solrwind does have an attitude but its the same as many kids. It is the parents responsibility to know the childs activity online as well.

The way I see is that this forum is for people of all ages to learn. And not allowing them to be here because of thier age is wrong. Everyone has the right to learn.

Right to learn, yes. Right to cop an attitude when told that they are doing things incorrectly? No.

You can learn everything you need to know if you lurk on here. Creating threads about improper care, that have been covered more than a few times is a detriment to the website. Let's face it, how many of you would be daily visitors/contributors if there were multiple threads like this daily?

Just my .02

But he is 12! This is just how they work. He does have an attitude but people haven't been very nice to him either. Got to remember he is a kid.

Yea guys. When I was 12 I asked so many questions that you would probably want to smack me in the head after 5 minutes. But at least he is here asking.

Yes this is an open forum for all and cause of that this person is learning
how their actions are affecting others. I see the replies as ""normal" under the circumstance.

Now...if this person was guided, some etiquette would be learn and thing would flow a little better don't you think.

Example:
how do you start a thread

And that was posted here. http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1456664#post1456664

Now who is going to step up and show this person the ropes since their parants aren't.

Arguing with a 12-13 year old, especially one that entered "1980" instead of "1999" as the year of their birth (more than a simple slip of the finger on the keyboard, IMO ), is not worth the effort of the general membership here. You have provided the information the OP needs. You can't force him/her to take your good advice, so please, don't try. I see it far too often on this forum and it only ends badly with infractions being issued. Put your effort into providing the best information possible and giving your time and effort to those that willingly accept it. Someone like the OP needs to be shown to these links: CS.com User Guide, Husbandry and Basic Care FAQ, Search Function: Getting Results, and told to check all the stickies before creating a thread and arguing with more experienced members. Three pages (@ 40 posts/page) over something that should only take 3 posts is ridiculous. In this day and age, a 12-13 year old is more than capable of searching forums, using Google and finding the information they require. My son is 12 and has known proper internet use for at least 5 years. His communication skills still need some refining, but he can obtain information off the internet without batting an eye.

thank you beautifullywild for sticking up for me
anyway i am making 40 dollars a week now so i should have new stuff in like 2-3 weeks
