If I remember my three years of German back in the mid-70s, "Deine" would be an informal address, as to a friend, whereas "Seine" is formal, as to someone you just met. I may be wrong though.

It is not too wrong.
You tell "Deine" to a friend and "Ihre" to people, who you don't know or who you just met.
