Hello all. Just joined. No snake yet, still in the process of doing some homework on it all, but I'm close. Taking in all the info I can right now.

Sorta deciding if I'm gonna go with a corn or a ball.

:)

Where in Colorado? I am in Fort Collins. Its nice to see other snake people out here! There is also a local herp yahoogroup out here as well if you want to join. Mostly breeders such as VMS and other local reptile breeders. Great resource! And its not just snakes, but all herps. http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/coloradoherps/

Welcome! And good luck in your search for the perfect snake (or snakes lol) :)

Hi Angela,
Thanks for the info on the Yahoo group.

I'm just north of the Black Hawk area. Gorgeous up here, but can be brutal during the winter :)

Have ya ever gone to the Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo? I haven't yet, planning on going to the next one in Nov.

Thanks for the welcome :)

I do go to the expo. I just went the the last one the beginning of this month. Thats a great place to meet people and get to see all the snakes up close! I would definitely recommend going.

Hi and welcome from another Colorado native/local! I'm planning to attend the next Expo, too (will also be my first time there). :wavey:

Ha, native myself. Not too many these days :)

Cool, be fun to bump into some folks at the expo from here. I do plan on going. My first one too.

I might be up your way for a interview this weekend I hope!!
My sis lives in Windsor so I might be moving there.

Sorry not meaning to jack the thread.

Hi and welcome!
I would vote corns between corns and balls just my opinion though. I down in Pueblo,co. How about 25 hungry corns? :shrugs:

Hi Zorro,
Thx for the opinion and the greetings.
So, gotta ask why. I hear both are docile and etc....
Think I'm leaning towards a miami phase corn.
Anyways, any insight into the "whys" for corn vs a bp, I'd a appreciate it. :)

Wow......25?!?!?! :eek1:

I have got the addition bad. When I first got into corns I did not realize that about 20-30% of babies out of the egg don't ever eat and die. So you want to find a breeder that has feed several times. VMS is a great local breeder and takes the time to make sure babies are fed before they go out. I have heard that babies from other snakes are even harder to get feeding. Don at SMR has a great "photo gallery" on his web site to see snakes that don't even show for sale. Since SMR is one of the last breeders to hatch out this year he still has a great stock or try VMS he is local and goes to some of the Rocky MTN Reptile shows in Denver and gives delivery discounts for Colorado.
I just love corns.

No kidding! Way too many imports these days (especially from a certain other "C" state. ;))

HAHA :crazy02:
Well if I move back technically I would a returning native ;)
I was born and raised in Parker, only moved to that other "C" state 2 years ago.

What crazy though, I think I have meet a hand full of people in SoCal that are native.
