Hello from Las Vegas!

Parrothead

First Time Snake Owner
Hey there everyone!

My name's Jeff and as you can probably tell by my screen name I'm a big time Jimmy Buffett fan :)

I've kept fish as pets for the last four years or so, but when I moved into my new place about three weeks ago I decided it was time for a change. After considering Emperor scorpions, I went to Petsmart who didn't have any. What they did have were a couple of nice looking cornsnakes.

I did some more research and found Exotic Pets (http://www.exoticpetslv.com/) and decided to go check 'em out. The owner breeds all the cornsnakes for the business and I found what looks like a nice, young female. I'll make sure to post pictures in the proper place ;)

This looks like a great forum with good people, so I think I'll stick around for a while :D

Have fun!

Jeff are you good looking around 30 and single?
Do you have alot of money and a good job?

wades sense of humor is something you will come to love- its what keeps me here, lol! Welcome to the forum btw and definitely post pics of your corns in the photo gallery.

Hey, Jeff, welcome.
Yes, do stick around for a while, it'll be good for you and your snakes.
I've seen Mr. Buffet a few times with my parrothead friend.

HEy welcome to CS.com.. I am in Vegas as well.. You should check out the Snake Shop sometime, they are located inside of the fantastic indoor swapmeet on Decatur and Oakey.. I go there every Saturday and hang out all day. ALso they have the cheapest feeders in town.

Ah heck, you have Wade in the St George area and me, well I am probably the cloest So Cal member to Sin City.. I am certain I could give you a boost with some high qaulity animals if thats what your intrested in.. Heck, I might be willing to meet part way if the order is big enough.. *LOL* and an evul, evul grin!

Regards. Tim of T and J

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for the REALLY BIG welcome :)

I have to confess that putting down that deposit was a bit of an impulse action. Yes, I researched what's required and what to look for (including lurking here) and Ziva (named after Ziva David on NCIS ;) ) was just the ticket - right gender, right color, right price, and right in front of me!

Now to get to the replies...

Wade - I'm around 30, not rich by any stretch of the imagination but have a decent job. As far as looks, that's all in the eye of the beholder but I myself think I could stand to lose about 150 lbs and the doc agrees. I'm completely single again for the first time in years and looking forward to having some fun finding a girlfriend once I drop some of that weight ;)

Danielle - thanks for the welcome and I've known lots of people like I figure Wade is - gotta have a sense of humor in life, right? I posted a picture of my new snake here: http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80982

Alan - I'll be sticking around, no worries about that. Glad to have someone here who knows what a Buffett show's like!

RavenSpirit360 - thanks for the welcome! I'll try to make it down to the snake shop sometime. I'm up here in the northwest corner of the valley - around Smoke Ranch and 95.

pebblelu - Thanks for the welcome and reassurance! I went to Exotic Pets after finding out that they're only about two miles from my apartment. I can tell you and RavenSpirit have different opinions, but that's what makes life interesting right?

Tim - Thanks for the welcome and the offer :) I'll definitely keep you and Wade in mind for future acquisitions. I'm planning on sticking with one snake for now, but it may turn into another collection like my old military rifles and shot glasses :D

Thanks again everyone and I'll see y'all around the boards!

Welcome Jeff

Welcome to the forum--this is a great place to get information or just see what other people are doing. Las Vegas is where my snake addiction started -- I guess it's better than some of the other addictions you can find there:p We now live in Oregon, but go back and visit as often as possible.

I also wanted to put my plug in for the Snake Shop. The owners are great and knowledgeable. You feel like family when you walk in the door. They also guarantee their pets when you buy them. I've never had any problems though.

Take care. Nancy

Nancy, hey you are the one they got the bloodreds from huh?? If yes, they where some beautiful babies, I had a hard time saying no to them.. I have bloods already is the only reason.. :)

Hope to see ya there at the shop sometime Parrothead :)

Nancy - It's sure better than an addiction to shooting firearms as ammo costs are through the roof lately!

I'll try to get to the shop sometime soon - once I'm finally unpacked ;)
