Hello Old Friends!

jpccusa

Happy with this new hobby
I'm stopping by after a long time just to see what has/hasn't changed around here.

The old - Many of my friends are still around, still posting frequently. Many still have the same avatar. I am glad to see "staples of the hobby" still helping newbies as they helped me years ago. Thank you guys!

The new - I was looking at some cool pictures of new morphs. WOW. Some pretty interesting new colors and patters out there. I'm surprised to see that the annoying "DYK" thread now has its own subforum! I'm also surprised to see some "banned" people making their way back here. :sidestep:

Update 1 - Kinky (my male okeetee) is doing well, still in the garage, still in his bookshelf enclosure. He outgrew the Sculpey homes I made for him. He now uses the cut off bottom of a 5 g bucket. I stopped weighing him once he outweighed my jewelry scale (500 gr.), but he still sheds about once a month. He never regurgitated a meal. I do think his head should be bigger though - the max rat size he accepts is small adult rats. Perhaps that's normal.

Update 2 - About me, well, I got my bachelors in Business Administration back in May. I am still working and living at the same places. I gave up the saltwater aquarium hobby. I now am in the process of using the 100 gallons acrylic tank for a group of poison dart frogs and some cool vivarium plants (I'm busy in that forum ;)). I still have two greyhounds (Chico, the male, is healthy albeit old) and two cats.

That's about it. I'll stop by from time to time to check on things.

Talk soon,

DYK nice to see you back!! I have changed my avatar once in seven years. Some banned members have been allowed a second chance. Rich thinks they may have matured or changed their perspective. You're right- there are lots of new morphs!

Welcome back...I haven't changed my avatar in who knows how long....gotten out of cornsnakes for the most part...only have one and a couple of babies left from the last clutch I hatched. Added venomous since you were here, an extra dog...still fostering and training....er.....left my job at the hospital, expanding my barefoot trimming business...other than that...nothin' new.....Congrats on your degree and glad to see you're still doing your thing!

Welcome back. I love PDFs they are so pretty- there are some people who vend at the shows here that make habitats for them and they seem like a really cool hobby pet. I am not sure when's the last time I changed my avatar lol.

I remember you! Welcome back!
Hey, I remember you too! :)

Thanks Nanci. Nice to see you are still helping to keep order in this place.
That is awful nice of Rich to do that. I hope some people did learn with their mistakes and are much better members now.

WOW, venomous, huh? That's crazy. You doing it as a hobby or business (milking snakes?)?
Gotta admit I had to look up "barefoot trimming." Good luck with the expansion.

They are very pretty and very labor intensive, but should be more fun and cheaper than saltwater fish.

JP: As a hobby only. You'd need thousands to get enough venom to make an appreciable contribution. I keep one of a few different species....some long time favorites and a few that just became a favorite. They are horribly addictive unfortunately!
