Hello, my name is Shannon, and I am a newcomer to the site. Just came across it a few days ago, and I have already learned so much. I am a first time snake owner, but have had my little Cedric since Christmas. I believe he is an Amel corn. I call him a he, but he hasn't been sexed. I haven't been able to find any reptile experts here in Newfoundland yet. I plan to get him sexed when I move back home (Ontario), where I know there are people who know what they are doing. He is about 6 months old or so. The pet store had no idea how old any of their snakes were, but he was definitely a hatchling(my guess was 3-4 weeks based on some research I did when I got him home). To give you another idea about the terrible pet store, he is actually Cedric 2. The first one died the first night I brought him home:cry:. (It was Christmas eve no less, what a wonderful surprise I had when I woke up on Christmas morning.:sobstory:) Anyway they replaced him, and now I have a wonderfully healthy, little scale baby. :D
I am definitely an animal person. All types really big and small. I only have 1 cat, 1 corn, and some fish currently, but I visit and ride my friend's horses almost everyday. I plan on having a full reptile room eventually, but my lifestyle is too unstable for that right now. Anyway just thought I'd introduce myself and Cedric.
This is Cedric.

Welcome to the site:) So, would you mind holding a 5 foot monitor or a 12 foot boa?
I'm totally good with holding whatever. I have held a very large boa actually. Not sure exactly how long it was but i could barely lift it. Just don't ask me to hold any arachnids ;)

Haha. I attempted at getting a rose hair for my 7th time, but as usual it failed.
My boyfriend has a rose hair back home, but it lives at his brothers while we're away. I'm used to it, but I won't touch it. They give me nightmares. I don't think he's gonna keep any arachnids anymore since we live together thankfully. He knows I'm terrified of them.

Welcome to the group.
thanks :)
