Hi Everyone,

I'm Meghan, and I'm from a tiny little town in eastern Alberta, Canada. My husband and I were given what we were told was a 3 year old (at the time) male corn snake by a friend of his about 2 years ago, because the friend was moving and the apartment building didn't allow animals, even caged ones. We thought it would be a good move, as we wanted our son (1 at the time) to be around animals, but hubby is allergic to all things furry. It's been great, as our little guy fully understands that not all animals are pets (the live mice we feed), and that life and feeding have different cycles for different animals. Trigger has now become HIS "nake", if you ask him :) We recently (within the last couple of days) found out that Trigger is, in fact, female, when she laid a clutch of eggs...

Welcome. Glad you were able to give your now confirmed girl a good home.

I explain to my non-snake owning friends, who are squeamish about feeding any mice dead or alive, that having frozen mice in my feezer for my snake is no different than having frozen chicken in there for me. Your little guy is miles ahead of them, lol.

I totally agree with DollysMom, try feeding frozen/thawed mice, it is much easier and safer for the snake (the mice will fight back which has caused many horrific consequences) and it is less cruel to the mouse.

And yes, wrap the mice in a paper bag and put it in the freezer, no one will know the difference!
 
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome :) I've tried feeding her frozen/thawed, she's damn picky lol turns her nose right up and ignores them
