Hey guys. I'm having trouble picking the perfect name for my wee serpent. I've got two names that I love right now: Kulkulkan (Khan for short) and Tesla (because his dorsal stripe reminds me a bit of lightning).

I'm open to suggestions as well. :)

Yep forgot the attachment. I was gonna post a link to my picture of him in the gallery sub-forum. If you'd care to look the title is "New baby Tessera p/h amel! :)"

I'll also likely be using that same thread to do progression with the little guy. I'll have more pics in a few days when his quarantine is up.

Sorry I meant to say that my cell phone won't let me paste the link.

What happened to Pancho? I like that best!

I like Pancho too, but it's a little too normal for me.. If that makes sense. I like to give my smaller animals big grandiose names. If I had a huge retic or something I would give it a non threatening name like Pancho.

I guess I like my names to be contrary to what the animal looks like. For example, if I'm talking about my beardie I'll tell someone that I have a dragon named Cosmos. I like to think it evokes cool Imagery and makes people's imagination a little active.. and the reaction is great when they see this (relatively) little yellow lizard.

But maybe I'm just too picky lol. :)

I like Tesla, both for the lightning stripe and for the fact that he may be quick as lightning too (?). It looks like it would fit -- run with it! (Er...pardon the pun?)

I totally get it. My tiniest cat is 5 lbs, and was so shy when we first got her I felt she needed a big fancy name. She is my Minnie LaRue! My biggest guy I just got last Sunday (this beast of a Ragdoll is right now laying on my chest, all 16 lbs of him) and we renamed him Cal. He is the same Flame Point color as my Cali girl we had to put to sleep last July, his real (purebred registered name) name is Creme de la Creme, they called him Creamy, but we decided last night to call him Cal, in honor of Cali.

I am voting for Tesla, you can call him Nik for short!

Ok, somebody call the paramedics, I can't breathe with this ginormous furball on me, much less see the keyboard!

Okay, I broke and took him out for a few minutes and two pictures. Quarantine is hard! Lol.

Hope this helps with the naming process.

I hadn't thought of that. I still like it, but maybe we can help brainstorm some lightning-related names as other options?

Yes please! Any help is appreciated. I've never had a snake so I'm not prepared for the naming process lol.

I'm also very fond of names from mythology and old religions.. particularly names of gods and goddesses that are serpents or deal with serpents in some way... or are just downright cool.
