i have 4 little hatchlings (2 amel stripes het butter stripe and 2 amels het butter stripe) which i purchased in good faith, shed ok feeding etc etc, they have refused to feed and considering the facts and previous experiences ive had with bad feeders its obvious that ive been "conned" the seller ignores all mails ,phone calls etc,i have tried most things df,warmed ,small enclosures, heads, tails, lizard maker etc, managed to force feed a head to 1 tonight dont really know what else to do and i dont want these little critters to die :shrugs: anyone in the uk know the address of steve taylor of worcester would be appreciated, this guy cannot carry on doing this please avoid

i paid £100,was for 3 stripes but when we met junction 6 on m5 2 stripes!!! but 2 amels too soften the blow so too speak having travelled i thought "why not" should have walked away.......but butter stripes ive been in love with them since i saw them.......still £100 is £100 on my budget thats a lot of cash

sure did, apparantly im not the only one, someone else bought snakes as females which turned out to be males

Hey, you could try this... this is a video I found last night on YouTube of a guy feeding his snakes that wouldnt eat. Worth a try if nothing else works mate.

HERE

Good luck with catching the guy and getting your babies to eat.

Oh dear, I hope you manage to get them to eat. Anyone who wants to meet on motorway sounds dodgy to me. If they were genuine they'd meet you at their home and show you what they have. But you live and learn I guess. Sorry I don't mean to be nasty there, I do hope you get some help.
Is there a reptile shop you could take these little guys to that may be able to help you - sure it might cost you but at least you may save them?

This is the exact reason why I won't buy from classfieds, although some have suggested it... I don't want to be ripped off.

have you tried live day-old pinks yet? After months my non-eating snow who had to be tube-fed finally gave in when I bred my own mice

thanks guys that video allthough looking a bit grewsome opens up other opportunities and may be worth a go,meeting on a motorway...now i look at it should have walked away, thats what you get for trusting people  the issue with lives...i havent tried it as yet and am not sure if i would it opens a whole new can of worms ethically, however if it meant it saved a life then i guess i would try it if i new off a source fairly local,

I have to admit I really didn't want to try live feeding, I've bred gerbils in the past as a hobby, and at the time we still had 2 ancient pet mice (Only 1 now, and not sure how long she will last)
However, live feeding is not illegal in the UK as long as it can be proved to be necessary and is not done in public view or for entertainment (just google UK law livefeeding) The frozen mice we use are ethically and morally no different to use than a live mouse especially at the pinkie stage when there is no danger of your snake being injured IMO.
For me the choice was to have a colony of pampered mice breeders and feed off their offspring, or lose my snake. If you do decide to try live, it sounds like you haven't got time to set up a breeding production, so you could try your local reptile specialist shop and explain your problem and could they point you towards any suppliers who could help. Any decent herp shop shouldn't have the hypocrisy to act shocked, but they might want the discussion to be quite private because of the prevailing attitude in the UK against live feeding

just like i said a whole new can of worms, however i do here what your saying do i want my snake(s) to live or die,i suppose there are no guarentees that they will take live, the local reptile shop are all for giving advice and the like (all of which i have tried and more)but not keen on taking them on,not that id want them too,i have a few more options to try (thanks for the vid)before reverting to live, its just the fact that these were bought in good faith and as soon as i introduced a pink they were obviously non feeders ive seen it before and that really hacks me off,as i understand to start a mouse breeding programme would take about a month if i started now is that right? i could tube feed them until then,i will do anything to keep these little babes alive

I should have some new pinks in the next week or so, I don't drive but if kent isn't too far you are more than welcome to pick up some pinks from me, I only need a couple to get to fuzzy stage out of each litter as the rest of my snakes take f/t
