what colour is the male genitals suppose to be when you pop it?

i just tried popping all 3 of my baby corns 2 1 month old and 1 3 months, apparently i have all females :S

when i popped it, the main bum hole comes out right, and then on the side theres two smaller probe like holes that come out too.. the color is like whitish, there might be a red dot on them im not sure but if i squeeze harder liquid/poo comes out from the two holes on either side NOT the main bum hole...

i saw a video on corn popping and it was an older corn so its genital was red when the male was poppped.

SO BASICALLY.

when u pop at a very very young age, are you suppose to see an obvious genital if its male? because when i pop i just see 2 more holes come out, not so much that it looks like a male genital, just two vents that kinda stends out

Apart from watching the video (I know Kathy Love's demo is excellent), is there anyway you can get someone to show you pooping? Practising on a known male is useful too.

Sometimes they are white, sometimes red - depends on how much blood is in them when everted.

Also, if any have white bellies, look for the purplish spot below the cloaca as was discussed on another recent thread. If you see the purplish spot, it is a male. But it won't work on dark colored bellies.

Did you watch my video, or another one? If you didn't see mine yet, take a look and see if it helps any (on my cornutopia.com site).

I always thought that you could only pop the babies and not the older ones.... that probing would be required for older ones. Also, Kathy, I have watched your videos over and over and I think either all of the snakes I have tried this on are female, or I am doing it wrong. I am afraid of pushing too hard. I really don't want to hurt them. Any tips?

(p.s. I don't mean to hi-jack, but I felt any help I could get would help the OP as well)

Your best bet is to have someone qualified demonstrate proper technique in person as opposed to attempting to emulate a video. Having someone there to assist, they can tell you whether or not you are doing it right and make suggestions to improve your technique.

You can try my video in my site too if you want .
The technique is to roll your thumb towards the cloaca , roll it , don't push it or force it .

When i brought my baby corn in (was only about 7 grams) to the vet, he tried to sex it, but said it's too early to tell. Usually, he said, popping can be done to accurately sex a snake at about 1 year old. Poop came out when he did it too, he just said it may just be ready to poop!

You can pop corns when they are right out og the egg !!!
Popping a snake from a year old seems much more difficult , unpossible ? They have to be probed .

I think you need to get another vet. ;)
Popping is best done when they're under a year old.
