Well, 2 of the females look pregnant. Let's see if they can stick to the Mazuri, and leave the babies alone :grin01:
 
Just leave them be and ignore them. As Connie once said about incubating eggs, "Benign Neglect". ;)

But I'll cross my fingers and toes for you in the meantime. Looks like a week till they pop. =)

I'll say a week for the first one, 4 days for the second lol. Have you ever put any seed in their feed, or are they strictly on lab blocks? Ours get 75% Mazuri blocks and 25% seed (though these are petstore mice). The addition of seed is mainly for the fact that we know that is what people will feed them once they get them home.

We just had a female slip in to our "male only" shipment, and when I finally realized what had happened, she had been in with 6 males for almost a 2 weeks. It wasn't 3 days, and she had 8 babies! :) So, my fingers are crossed for you, Mike, good luck! :wavey:

They do get seed on occasion. The spiny mice are fed primarily on seed and they produce well. I may start giving the domestics seed more often! :cheers:
 
Be careful there.....you'll end up feeling like a mouse breeder if you get carried away!

I end up taking care of my mice almost as much as my snakes! And man...the mice smell way worse and their bites hurt a heck of a lot more.

I don't get it

This gal is obviously no longer pregnant, yet there are no babies. They were either eaten immediately, or I was wrong in my assessment of her condition :shrugs:
 
sometimes unexperienced breeders eat their first litter...

give them time and feed them lot of protein (what can help to prevent the eating of offspring)
