Herping in Missouri and tornado aftermath

jesserca

I may need snake rehab.
My husband and I went out yesterday to this spot that we always go to to camp and shoot our guns. Its a nice secluded place and always ton of critters around. I knew that there had been tornado sightings in that area but I hadn't heard if any had actually touched down. So I was a little surprised at the amount of trees down. Anywho, on to the pics.

First off the tornado destruction

We had some damage in the southern part of the state a couple weekends ago also. Looks like you had a good time.

Well I'm not for sure but I think it is Limenitis arthemis astyanax, or red-spotted purple butterfly. But don't quote me on that.

Very cool pics... The tree damage is crazy... I can't imagine how it would feel to go to a place that Im used to seeing one way and then seeing it totally destroyed..
