i have a herpstat hooked up to 2 16 watt zoo med UTH's. while i'm waiting for my order of flexwatt to arrive, i have a 24 watt UTH that i was gonna plug into the thermostat, and then just cover with a few towels to set the babies on so it wouldn't be so hot. but when plugged into the herpstat, it doesn't heat up at all. when i plug it right into the wall, it heats up just fine. (too hot, but heats up)

is that just because it's a bigger, more powerful UTH, that the herpstat just doesn't give it power at all? or is this a malfunction with my herpstat? any input would be appreciated.
 
If you plug something else into the outlet on the Herpstat that you tried the 24 watt in, does it work? If you plug the 24 watt into the outlet that you have one of the 16's plugged into, on the Herpstat, does it work? Are you taking its temp with a thermometer or temp gun, not just seeing if you can feel it get hot when it is in the Herpstat? Is the Herpstat's current setting near your room temp, so it wouldn't turn the 24 watt on? The Herpstat is able to control hundreds of watts (not sure of the actual number, don't want to look it up- but 500 watts or something like that) so it should be fine with all three stats plugged in.
