Hi i just recently purchased what i was told to be a creamsicle cornsnake, i love it so far. It is really calm and fun to handle.
I am excited but i had a question about different wattage. I have a 10 gallon tank with a UTH and an incandescent light bulb, 75 watts. With the light on my tank gets over 90 degrees and with the light off with the probe over the spoy where the UTH is and against the glass the temp drops to 78-79 degrees maybe lower. I was wondering if i should change to a lesser watt bulb maybe around 50,40, or 25 watts so it wouldnt get too hot. Does anyone know approximately how much heat those watts give off. I know about the rheostats but i also wanted to know about lesser wattage.
anything would be greately appreciated, thanks.
