Hey everyone! My name is AJ. I just got my first corn snake and his name is Kane. He was captive bred and he's red. I just figured I'd introduce myself.

Just wanted to add that I have totally fallen in love with my corn snake. I used to think that people who had snakes as pets were crazy...but, snakes make awesome pets. Some of my friends are like, "what the hell can you do with a snake?" They just don't get it. Anyway, here's a pic:

Oh yeah, if anyone could give me a little insight into his "official" color, I would greatly appreciate it. I was looking around, and I came up with Amelanistic Motley. But I could always be wrong. Thanks

I think my family still sees it this way!

He looks like an amel. It doesn't quite look like a motley. If his belly has checkers (they'll likely be sort of faint yellow/orange) he's not a motley. If his belly has no checkers, he is a motley.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks zwyatt,

I looked on his belly and sure enough...I figured out that he is an amel. It doesn't sound as cool as an amel motely, but he's still freakin cool if you ask me!

Nice looking amel.

And welcome aboard. You found a great place to find all the information you need to take incredibly good care of that pretty little hatchling. Follow the link in my signature or use the search function to answer most of your questions. Anything else...just ask!!
