Hi, I haven't ever had a snake before and hopefully I will be getting a corn later this year. Corns are definitely my favorite species of snakes and I can't wait to have one. Hoping to learn a lot here!

HI and welcome. This site has tons of information no corns so educate yourself here and other places. When you get your corn, come back and post photos for us. We would love to see the little guy/girl.

Welcome to the forum! :wavey:

As previously mentioned, a lot of useful info on this site and if you still have questions, don't hesitate to ask.

So, any idea on what morph you may be interested in? There are a lot to choose from. If you would like to see more, check out Ians Vivarium.

Here is the link:
On the left hand side is the name of all the morphs, Click the names and check out all the snakes.

You can also check out our photo gallery forum. Don't get lost in all the beautiful colors though or you could wind up like most of us and have more than 1,2,3,..... snakes. LOL! ;)

Welcome and I agree that once you get the first one pretty soon you will have another and another there is so many colors and patterns that once you think you have all the ones you want you will see another one so good luck....

Haha, I really hope I can get more corns in the future... My parents aren't so keen on snakes. They don't dislike them, but they don't really love them either and they won't like frozen mice/rats in the freezer. And my brother is always afraid snakes will bite him, though he's afraid of wild snakes, not really pet ones. He freaks out when I get close to a snake in the wild, even though I know it isn't venomous. Hopefully they will change their minds when they meet my future corn!

I'm not sure what morph I want. I like them all, but I think I prefer red corn. So.. Lava maybe?

Welcome! I would say you are taking steps in the proper order - learn first then adopt your new family member! We are also new to corn snakes but went through the process backwards - we adopted Cornelia, a lovely 4 1/2" charcoal 6ish y.o., with out knowing anything and then took the crash course route of Corn Snake 101. This site is very helpful and also friendly! Spend time reading past posts if you can.

Welcome. And good luck with trying to narrow down that choice.

As for your brother being nervous about being bit; Show him some of the threads here and the pictures from some of the monster bites. lol Should makee him feel better in the highly unlikely event that it should happen.
