Hot air balloon ride in Asheville, NC

Connie and I went up to Asheville, NC a little while back and took our first hot air balloon ride. Although the weather didn't look all that good it actually turned out to be an excellent day for it and we had a fun ride. I had visions of winding up in a power line or the middle of a lake, but these guys flying these things apparently have been doing this for a long time and know what they are doing.

Highly recommended if you get a chance to do this yourself.

Nice! I've lived here for 15 years and have never been up. Or to the Biltmore house.

Biltmore is pretty darned impressive. I've got to process the video I took of that little jaunt. But it's only outside shots, since they don't allow photography inside. Kind of intimidating, though, to walk through ROOMS that have more floor space than my entire house....

I went on a hot air balloon ride once. The weather was iffy, but they went anyway. In the end, he had to let us down in a marshy area because the wind was high and a power line was looming. We rushed to the earth and I saw cattails flashing before my eyes. That was right before the balloon tipped over. ;)

That is kind of what I was expecting to have happen..........

I'm glad yours was more sedate. I was wondering how I was going to survive everyone in the balloon falling on top of me because, of course, when the balloon fell over, I was on the bottom. (Thanks, Murphy....)
