Go Ahead, Make My Day!
We had a client ask the vet for some help, and considering the request, he came straight to me. It seems that the property this woman lives on is a favorite for some of our more "undesirable" Florida snakes. She specifically mentioned eastern diamondback rattlers and coral snakes in more than the average number. She says she has already caught and released/relocated several specimens, as well as accidentally killing at least one diamondback (got caught in her lawnmower). She has as least one small child as well as her pets to worry about. She is afraid that her relocation efforts are not enough and does not wish to kill any more.
What she is looking for is someone or someplace that would come and take any hot herps she catches for either milking or relocation far enough away to hopefully keep the population in her area to a minimum. She says she has tried several recommended places/people, but has had no luck. So if anyone out there knows of such a solution that services the Pasco/Hernando county line area, would you please give me some contact information and I will forward it to this woman. Thanks!
