Housing babies

Finally......after 80 days of waiting my eggs have been hatching! Was wondering how you all house your hatchlings? I've got 6 in little deli containers..that's all the containers I have right now. I've read babies can be housed together for a while but also read babies can eat each other too. So I was just wondering what other people do with their babies. If all my eggs hatch I'll have 17? babies I think. I've forgotten how many eggs I have. :):)

My brand new hatchlings I have racks that use gladware bins. I have three that each hold 10 rectangle sized bins, & I have 6 that hold the sandwich sized bins. (They're the Ziplock Tag Along bins)

In my (limited) experience, I find I have better success rate in getting babies to eat if I start them in small containers. After they're established eating, I move them to bigger bins (showbox sized).

I used deli cups last year, to house the hatchlings in until they were established eaters.

I bought alot of food containers at the swap meet about 6in by 4in a bag of 75 with lids was $8. Put holes in with sodering gun and it works perfect cause its small enough but big enough to keep the keepers pips in for awhile. Good luck.

It's my first time having my own hatchlings as well and I have 18 babies...I bought $3.00 sterlite containers at walmart that are 11 1/2in. x 7 1/2 in. X 3 1/2 in. which is 2.7 QT / 2.6 L.

Whew!.....Got all my babies in their own little containers for now. Still have one egg hatching. May keep couple. Waiting for them to shed then to feed them. Sure hope they eat. Thanks for replies.

Crazy.....did you make that rack? Looks nice. :)
