MorphCorns

Hello,

I am wondering if adult corns can be housed together? Males with Males, Females with Females? I am getting corn snakes and I want to make my Rack to the specifications of proper housing.

Thanks,

Lu

I am not getting into this discussion again. It is a very volatile topic. Please do a search, and you will find a lot of threads about this subject.

Starting to think we need a Contoversial Topics topic. Just collect all the old threads and dump them there. Anybody that asks gets pointed there the first time, fed to a large hurgry Burmese the second....

Haha. I found the topics. Thanks! Many of them too! I will be making a rack anyway, but I need to confirm the size bin for adults.

So I guess You can see why I refused to get into the subject again?? LOL!

Right now, I have a lot of my adults in the 32-quart bins. I do not like them, however, especially for large adults. I am hoping to move soon, and I will be building much larger racks for my adults. I want to find some bins that are at least 3 foot by 2 foot (or bigger). It is not as important to me as to how tall the bins are. I would like for them to be at least 8-10 inches tall, though. The ones I have now are only around 6 inches tall, and I think they are too short.

I have a rack that its bins are 36x14x7. I used them for young to sub-adult blood pythons but I want a rack that will hold at least 12 adult corns and this one, (which takes up alot of space), will only hold 5 adults if they are housed seperate, (whic I prefer as most others do). So 32, to 40 qt are good? I could always mix and match the bins. I just have to get this rack project done by next week. :)

They are OK (not great, but OK) for small adults, but not for full grown adults, in my opinion. I have some adults that are around 5 feet long, and they just don't have enough room to get adequate exercisein the 32 quart bins. Could you build another rack like the one you have and stack it on top? That way you would be utilizing more vertical space as opposed to floor space. Of course, you'd only have room for 10 adult corns, then.

I could always keep the rack I have now for larger adults and build on top of that another rack in the future but I would feel like Im cheating the other snakes. Guys in the old rack will live large while others are in apps. LOL. They should pay RENT! I am also going to need a hatchling rack. What size do you use for hatchlings, Yearlings? Do you use belly or back heat?
