Yes, they can see directly in front of them.

Susan: Not to steal the OP thread, But what a fantastic photo. And I agree, very cute looking snake. But I wonder if corns only see in infra red or in some other form.

Mine certainly do. Fed the critters last night, and my youngest ghost would rattle his tail every time I moved around the room and I ended up having to leave entirely so that he would just finish eating.

One of mine rattles her tail whether you are in the room or not. I think she just does it out of the sheer excitement of feeding. But I have some that can't hit the side of the bin when striking at the prey. Some others are deadly. Was an experiment I was trying out. So it makes me wonder if that was eye sight related or just inexperience.

I think that their eyesight is fine, but they don't use it as their primary sense.

When they strike, I think they are using their sense of smell the most. Because of this, they aren't always the most accurate since the tongs and possibly your hands smell like mouse.

Does anybody else know more?

sometimes my corn will move his head side to side (makes me think of "dancing like an Egyptian"). Does that mean he has poor eye sight? Although sometimes he shows signs that he has very good eye sight.
