How often should my snake shed?

Answered my own question, approximately once a month from what I read. Which brings me to my next question... I've had my corn snake for 3 months now. During this time she has only shed once, and that was nearly 2 months ago... Should I be concerned? I mist the substrate once daily sometimes twice, and monitor the humidity regularly. She has looked a little dull lately, could this be related to her reguege yesterday? Should I purchase some moss or something to aid the shedding process?

They only shed when they've grown enough to need to. Young snakes shed more often and it slows down once they're adults. My babies shed more like every 5 to 6 weeks but again it's related to growth not husbandry.

If your snake regurged and also looks dull, it is probably about to shed and shouldn't have been fed. Be extra careful to watch for blue since this has happened once already. I assume you know about the regurge protocol...

Babies usually shed approximately every 6-8 weeks on a moderate feeding schedule. They can shed more often than that if they are being fed more aggressively. Adults shed a lot less frequently, usually only a few times a year.

Thank you, I will keep a closer eye on that before feeding in the future. Yes I have read up on reguege protocol. Thank you for the help

After reading this thread I'm kinda worried because the ladies I bought mine from said I could feed my snake once a week or even every five days if it accepts the mouse but you guys are saying every month. My snake sheds probably every three weeks and hasn't really had any problems other than some mites.

The snake SHEDS every month, not eats. Feed it on a 5-7 day schedule, depending on size, size of prey item, etc. 3 weeks between sheds is crazy frequent at any age. You sure mites are all gone?

I'm almost 100 percent there gone I haven't seen any on him for at least 2 months and I used a lice killer that I found on these treads twice just to make sure.

Not much to look out for. Just write each shed on a calendar and keep notes. More often than once a month often happens when there has been an injury, or skin is healing somewhere. If the snake looks and acts fine and is eating, I wouldn't worry.
