How to make an avatar???

Alright, I give up! How do you get a pic to be 100x100 pixels so it can be an avatar???? By they time I shrink them to that size, they're just a dot! Maybe my digital camera is too good?

I know someone has had to have asked this before, but I searched for the word avatar, and didn't get anything.

If you have Photoshop, you can just change the image to 100x100 pixels by going to Image>Image Size> then choosing the width and height to be 100 pixels each. Of course, croping the image to a perfect square first works best. Make sure you crop what you want to include in the avatar so you get a nice, clear picture without any extra junk.

You can crop a square by selecting the selection tool and holding shift as you drag and select a section. Then go to Image>Crop.

I had the same problem. In my case, I had the pixel count on my camera set too high so by the time I shrunk it down, it was gone. Check the quality setting on your camera. Reducing it may take care of your problem.

You will need to decrease the resolution and/or compress the photo as well as bring the pixels to the correct size. If you want, I've gotten fairly good at shrinking images down to avatar size and can do one (or several) for you. Just e-mail me the photos and I'll send them back to you in proper size. Use my business e-mail [email protected]

I think I have it ready for you to try! If not...I'll get some sleep and try again!

I did mine on photobucket. Put the pic in there then hit "edit". They had "avatar" as a choice for sizes. Mine didn't turn out as good as some other's but I haven't had time to play with it some more.
