Hrm... whys that happening?

Gintha

*stretches* I'm out!
Recently I have noticed that Treasure has a soft buldge by her vent.. kinda looks like she has to go.. potty.. never noticed it before... any ideas? Shes also looking quite chubby hehe... maybe I'm over feeding? 2 pinks every 5 days.

It sounds like she isn't deficating. I would let her have a week or so off to try to clear her system, and then maybe to a feeding scedule a little more relaxed, like two pinks every 7 days, just to allow her more time to digest and pass meals. BTW, how big is she?

Close to two feet now, and she deficates every 2 days like clockwork, thats why I'm curious, clean up LOTS of snakey poo. Friend who is in training to be a herp vet suggested she may be "in estrous" (not the term he used, but can't remember it ~.~) which is why I have the other post about age. I know from experience with working with many animal groups that pet stores are BAD for underfeeding to stunt growth.. so for all I know Treasure could be 2 or 3 years old and just very teensy.

Edit = My first snake who was kistachi (sp?) corn cross was 3 when she died and not much bigger than Treasure is now, who, if the store told the truth, is around 6 months old. Questioning the credability of this store HUGELY after going in there last week to see 6 dying puppies.. and they didn't know anything was wrong with them. (puppies were in stage 3 parvo.. seizures, vomitting, coughing, chronic diarreah, and mucus pouring out of them.. and they thought they had a cold ~.~) So needless to say I'll prolly buy 1/2 their stock in the next month and get them healthy, then give em away hehe... doubt my parents would let me keep 300 animals.

Purchasing animals (especially poorly kept, sickly ones) from the store you speak of is only encouraging them to bring more into the store and continue the cycle. I wouldn't recommend supporting their poor husbandry practices.

Oh.. I do reports for the SPCA.. I'll have them closed soon enough =) Went undercover for the SPCA once before.. they are sneaky here hehe.. so proud to have helped them get rid of one bad pet store, am more than willing to do it again. (Gin doesn't put up with mistreated animals)
