Humidity

Ok I got him a new light and now the temp in the cage is around 75-80 with about 40-50% humidity...
But now he spends all his time next to his water dish...

Just tonight i got some lukewarm water in a bowl and held him in the water to help his shed, he squirmed around like no tomorrow, it wasnt too hot, I just dont think he liked it...but afterwards when I put him back in his cage, before he ran for his hide, some of the shedding was starting to come off again,

Is it a good idea to soak him in lukewarm water everyday until he fully sheds?

I have never seen one that didn't fight if you forced it to soak.

It seems less stressful to just give them a shed box or a moist hide when they need it. When I am going down a row of babies to feed (I put each one in a deli cup with a pink), if I see one that looks like it needs help shedding, I just grab a handful of its aspen bedding, dump a little water from its waterbowl into the deli, and lock the baby in the cup until morning. Virtually always the shed is complete by then. That's about as easy as it gets.

what do you mean a little water?

Like get a syrofoam cup from a resturaunt with a to-go top and fill it to the top with aspen shavings, then pour about 1/2 or so inch of water into the cup and put the snake in there, then leave it for the nght?

I put a handful of aspen in the cup, then add enough water so that even once the shavings are completely soaked, you can still see some water in the bottom of the deli cup (not enough that the corn could easily drink from it, but you can see some water). But the snake is sitting on soggy shavings, not sloshing around in water. Basically, a slimy mess, lol! But it is only for overnight.

If you use a deli cup, be sure you put it back in the cage (in case you don't put the lid on tightly enough) and DON'T put it on the hot side of the cage (don't laugh - somebody did that and blamed me for not warning them!)

HAHA!!!
no need, I opened his hide just now to see if he was shedding and I found shed but no snake!
it came off in a full piece so I'm happy about that
