Humidity...

I was just wondering... what do you guys find is the best way to stabalize humidity? Also, what is the best way to raise the humidity level? I know with out frogs we put a plastic bag over part of the top of the tank (the top is wire mesh), is that alright to do with snakes as well? And how do you keep it stable?

Do you know what the humidity is in the tank?
My viv keeps pretty stable without help. Just checked, high/low/now; 46/45/45.
When I had a glass tank with a mesh top it was lower, about 35-40%, but fairly stable. We misted her when she was clear after blue but I'm not sure it was necessary.

Most homes stay in a range that is comfortable for corn snakes. You really don't need to worry about it. Your water bowl should be large enough that the snake can soak in it. Let him decide when he feels dry.

mine wont soak in her bowl ever, not even if i tied an anchor to her...
so i just mist the tank when i can tell she is about to shed, and if i miss...
then she gets to spend about 30 mins or so in a cool whip container with a wet wash cloth

Won't she shed without your help? I have over 100 corns and don't do anything of that nature. I never have shed problems.

its very dry here - sometimes she does ok but not everytime - my other corn (mango)has not had any problems however (but i have had not mango as long)
