Hybrid thoughts?

First of all, I love the look of some of the hybrids and I'm ok with the concept as long as they aren't marketed as a non-hybrid. That being said, the one hybrid I've been seriously contemplating is a Male mexican black king and a female snow corn. Just a few questions though, would it be best to have the sexes switched and get a female mexican and a male corn? Also, is there any current trade name for these guys (I know of Jungle corns, but I thought that was only Cali x Corn). Lastly, would there be anything in terms of demand for these guys.

There are quite a few named hybrid combos (search for a thread on this forum that contains a list), but probably many more without names as the species mix and percentages can vary so much. If you haven't seen it, you must browse Mesozoic Reptiles. What they have listed on their Available page is not all they have. Look at the hybrid/intergrade classified section of kingsnake.com for more awesome hybrid combos. And from what I've heard, it is usually better to have the kingsnake being the female when you pair with a corn. I also think you need the opposite sex of both as well to tease with (get them all worked up) so they will actually breed with each other.

Evil evil hybrids!! Just kidding, I LOVE the looks of hybrids as well. As Susan said, I think you need males and females of each to get them worked up for each other and then switch last second. Hopefully someone who breeds hybrids will chime in.

Also, as a quick note, crossing a snow corn and anything else won't make snow babies or anything. You'll end up with a cross between a Normal corn and a Mexi king, but het for Snow. You'd have to cross them together to get the morphs into play.

That said, I don't really like hybrids and avoid them completely. Just my personal opinion.
