Hybrid with who?

Such a problem. I ordered a snake: Pseudelaphe flavirufa (night red-yellow Mexican snake).
But apparently it was some hybrid. What do you think about this?

I'm no expert for sure, but it looks Flavirufa to me :shrugs: (Just comparing to other pics)

Looks VERY similar to my Mexican Night Snakes (Elaphe flavirufa) as far as color and pattern go, but the eye's aren't right *quite* right. That said, we all know how much eyes can vary also, but it seems just a tiny bit off from what I'm used to seeing (that could just be the angle of the shots also).

She always has such large pupils. That's what confuses me.

In the bottom photo it looks almost as if the pupil is mis-shapen like what one sees in some striped corns.

In this You tube video you can see the pupils are large at the beginning then small later on so yours is probably normal.

Natural variation sometimes makes an individual odd in some aspect even when it is pure to its species.

She just looks like she's looking forward, to me. You can see her pupils are round, in other photos. I saw what you see, though.
