Hypo Lavender Female het stripe!

Daenerys

Mother of Dragons
I should be getting my new hypo lavender female tomorrow!!! I am getting her from JMK Snakes. I am so excited!!! Lavenders are my favorite, and she is beautiful! The only problem is I am having trouble thinking of a name. Well, no, I can think of lots of names, but I am having trouble picking one! So I am going to make this an unofficial poll to see what people think of the names on my list. Oh, and I will update this thread with pictures as soon as I can, but in the mean time here is the one given to me:

List of names:

Lyra - Character from The Golden Compass book series, I like the series because everyone has a "daemon", or their soul living on the outside of their body in the form of an animal. Your soul can change shape when you're a kid but as you mature it settles into one form that represents your personality. So, thats why I chose this name, the name of the main character in the series.

Sansa - Character from A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. This series is a "realistic fantasy" as in it does not cover up the nastier side of life and make it seem idealistic. There is minimal magic, etc. Sansa is a young girl of a rich family that likes to make life ideal, dreaming of princes who come and take her away to marry her and they live happily ever after, etc etc etc. She later is forced out on her own in the middle of a war between all the royal houses, and learns what life is REALLY like.

Arya - She is Sansa's younger sister who doesn't like being forced to act like a lady and wants to learn to sword fight like her older brothers. She goes behind her parents back and gets her own sword (with the help of hr sympathetic half brother) and learns to use it. When she is later forced out on her own because of the war, she is like a demon in the shadows to all her enemies, a fierce little creature.

Daenerys - She is one of the last of House Targaryen, the former royal family which used to rule the land of Westeros until they were overthrown by some of the other houses. Born during a fierce storm in the castle Dragonstone, she was given the nickname "Stormborn". She and her brother escaped to a distant land as the last of the Targaryens where her brother sold her into marriage at the age of 13 to a Dothraki horseman tribe to gain their allegiance so he could try to take back the throne of Westeros. However, Daenerys didn't want to follow her idiot brother on his doomed quest to gain power, so she abandoned him and her and her new husband decided to go on with her own plans. But then her husband died, and she had his body cremated along with three ancient dragon eggs she had received as a wedding gift. The eggs hatched in the fire, and Daenerys became "mother" to three dragon hatchlings. Daenerys has gone on as the queen of her dead husbands powerful Dothraki tribe to try and gain back the throne of Westeros as it is rightly hers.

Rhaenys - Another of House Targaryen, she is not actually in any of the books (A Song of Ice and Fire) as she is dead, but I like the name.

Tinuviel - From The Simarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien...I don't actually know her whole story.

Kahlan - She is from a book series called The Sword of Truth which is also a TV series called Legend of the Seeker. She is a confessor which is a woman that has the ability to know when someone is telling the truth and also has the power to make people fall in love with her completely and basically be a slave. She is the constant companion to the seeker of truth.

Yes, I tend to pick names with stories behind them, or ones that are unusual/interesting. I love stories behind names :D

I also vote Lyra, that's a neat name and I did like to movie. Plus it starts with an L just like Lavender :D Good luck deciding, let us know what you choose.

Hehe I recognised the first 5 names - excellent books! I have a 'Lyra' cornsnake - a huge butter het motley - it's a great name, but Arya would be my fav. from your list ^_^

Yay for recognition! :D Alright so 3 for Lyra and one for Arya.

However, somehow PayPal gave him the wrong shipping address and the little snakie was sent to my home address 2 and a half hours away instead of my shipping address D: My poor mother ended up with the snake, and now she has to either keep her until the weekend or drive the 5 hour round trip to bring her to me today.

Tinuviel is another name for Luthien, given to her by her love. It more or less means Nightingale. Basically, Luthien's deal is that she's part elf and part divine. She falls in love with a scruffy outlaw named Beren, who's but a young human man. Her father is not pleased. Epicness ensues. It's a great love story. (And yes, very closesly related to that of Arwen and Aragorn, for those of you who are counting.)

Cute snake!

Hahah, thanks for that. I know the name and like it, I just never got around to reading The Simarillion :)

Ok so my mom who has the snake right now and knows nothing about how to keep snakes did follow my directions when I said she could just put her in a tupperware container with a small dish of water, but she decided to leave the lid cracked so she could get air. Well, the snake got out and they couldn't find her for like 30 minutes!!! Gaaahhh...they ended up finding her in the sink of all places. I told her if she was that concerned with its ability to breathe she could poke holes in the lid with a nail. I have to wait until tomorrow or Saturday until I can go get her, this is so stressful!

Yikes! Don't worry, I know at least one breeder who has snaplocked babies into sandwich tubs without remembering to do the airholes! Fine on stale air for 5 days.

Yeah, well I am going home today to pick her up, hopefully they wont lose her again before I get there! I know my little sister loves to hold snakes so hopefully she wont decide to go play with her and then lose her somehow >_<

So finally I am united with my new little baby!!! :D She is beautiful, love her to death! I think I am going to go with the name Lyra. Pictures:

The lighting is really weird in my house so that's all I have for now.

So, I decided to let my babies play in my mother's plant (shh, don't tell her) and I got some really cute pictures of them having fun :D
