Daenerys
Mother of Dragons
I should be getting my new hypo lavender female tomorrow!!! I am getting her from JMK Snakes. I am so excited!!! Lavenders are my favorite, and she is beautiful! The only problem is I am having trouble thinking of a name. Well, no, I can think of lots of names, but I am having trouble picking one! So I am going to make this an unofficial poll to see what people think of the names on my list. Oh, and I will update this thread with pictures as soon as I can, but in the mean time here is the one given to me:
List of names:
Lyra - Character from The Golden Compass book series, I like the series because everyone has a "daemon", or their soul living on the outside of their body in the form of an animal. Your soul can change shape when you're a kid but as you mature it settles into one form that represents your personality. So, thats why I chose this name, the name of the main character in the series.
Sansa - Character from A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. This series is a "realistic fantasy" as in it does not cover up the nastier side of life and make it seem idealistic. There is minimal magic, etc. Sansa is a young girl of a rich family that likes to make life ideal, dreaming of princes who come and take her away to marry her and they live happily ever after, etc etc etc. She later is forced out on her own in the middle of a war between all the royal houses, and learns what life is REALLY like.
Arya - She is Sansa's younger sister who doesn't like being forced to act like a lady and wants to learn to sword fight like her older brothers. She goes behind her parents back and gets her own sword (with the help of hr sympathetic half brother) and learns to use it. When she is later forced out on her own because of the war, she is like a demon in the shadows to all her enemies, a fierce little creature.
Daenerys - She is one of the last of House Targaryen, the former royal family which used to rule the land of Westeros until they were overthrown by some of the other houses. Born during a fierce storm in the castle Dragonstone, she was given the nickname "Stormborn". She and her brother escaped to a distant land as the last of the Targaryens where her brother sold her into marriage at the age of 13 to a Dothraki horseman tribe to gain their allegiance so he could try to take back the throne of Westeros. However, Daenerys didn't want to follow her idiot brother on his doomed quest to gain power, so she abandoned him and her and her new husband decided to go on with her own plans. But then her husband died, and she had his body cremated along with three ancient dragon eggs she had received as a wedding gift. The eggs hatched in the fire, and Daenerys became "mother" to three dragon hatchlings. Daenerys has gone on as the queen of her dead husbands powerful Dothraki tribe to try and gain back the throne of Westeros as it is rightly hers.
Rhaenys - Another of House Targaryen, she is not actually in any of the books (A Song of Ice and Fire) as she is dead, but I like the name.
Tinuviel - From The Simarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien...I don't actually know her whole story.
Kahlan - She is from a book series called The Sword of Truth which is also a TV series called Legend of the Seeker. She is a confessor which is a woman that has the ability to know when someone is telling the truth and also has the power to make people fall in love with her completely and basically be a slave. She is the constant companion to the seeker of truth.
Yes, I tend to pick names with stories behind them, or ones that are unusual/interesting. I love stories behind names
