I am so obsessed....I really love them...

That's exactly how my girl is. Now that her tumor is gone, I realized that she doesn't have use of her back legs, she drags herself everywhere. I didn't want to remove the tumor due to her age and on/off respiratory problems. But the thing was going to burst so I had to make a decision. I was ready to accept her not waking up from the anesthesia. But she made it, and has gained a lot of weight and is almost her normal self! I probably only bought her another month or two though, because one of her other tumors is on her throat and is growing pretty fast :( . Poor rats.

Think this way...for them it was a long happy life. Compared to most ratties out there, ours live like royalty. That's gotta count for something! It's not really "poor rats"...it's more like "poor us"!

I've been wanting to start a mouse colony for feeders but I'm worried that I wouldn't be able to bring myself to send them to their tiny little doom. They're so cute, and I don't really want 30 pet mice.
