I have my hatchling house snake and my corn in the same cage(finish reading please before posting!!!). The house snake was in a critter keeper inside the corns 20 long, the problem is that the house snake got into the 20 long sometime between 8:00 this morning and now. I searched the entire cage and no luck. Would the corn have eaten him? He just ate his weekly fuzzy last night.

uhhh...even with his body already distended from last night's feeding, I think you'd know iod one of your snakes ate another snake.

check the cage again, under substrate, in weird places before assuming that it was eaten or escaped two cages that you know to be secure. When I ws younger I had a young yellow rat that liked to hide along the upper rim of the cage lid even..

Best of luck finding him, just don't just to conclusions...

absolutley he could have gotten eaten. If the distension in his body looks somewhat abnormal to what a fuzzy will do, then its a very good possibility. Even if your corn ate last night. House snakes are also kind of small so check EVERYTHING inside that cage. Does the lid lock? If not, that snake is gone and your corn will be soon too. You might want to check the critter keeper again also. Those things are very hard to get out of if they are locked in place properly. He could still be in there and you may not know it.

the locking lids of the latches on the newer all glass cages, and the fact that the plastic kritter keeper thing was taped shut to help keep him in.

Don't underestimate those little guys. They are stronger than they look, and an opening the size of HALF a pencil is all they need to squeeze outta there
