I know this is corn snakes

I would try scenting with toad first. Once they get stuck on toad I hear it is hard to switch. The water trick really works

Also they need about 95 degree heat on the hot side and 80 on the cool side.

The humid hide is important because although the viv humidity should be 50 percent or less and the westerns do come from arid environments they spend a lot of time underground where humidity is higher.

I went back and checked my records. Looks like we bought our mexican hog december 2012 and he didnt eat for us until April of 2013. Ate regular until November 2013 and then went off feed again till February this year.

OH MY FLIPPING GOSH. OKAY... SORRY ALL CAPS, JUST SO EXCITED... I TOOK OUT HIS WATER DISH FOR 2 DAYS, AND ITS GETTING PRETTY HOT THESE LAST FEW DAYS, ANYWAYS... OFFERED HIM A SOAKING WET BRAINED PINKY. WHEN HE JUST SMELLED IT HE HISSED AND MOVED AWAY, BUT I LET HIM TOUCH IT WITH HIS TOUNGUE, AND SLOWLY HIS MOUTH OPENED AND HE ATE IT.... I AM SO HAPPY NOW. That was a good three months, maybe 4 he didnt eat... now i just need my corn to get back on regular feedings, It seems i need to brain mice and leave it in her cage for her to eat, and only small ones... she wont accept if I offer her food. its strange.
shes trying to escape so much she has damaged the scales around her nose a little bit, just by trying to get out. she is a bit better now, but after taking her out... she goes nuts for an hour or so....

ANYWAYS THANK YOU for the water suggestion. Hopefully she takes it no problem next time, Any tips?

I've been super excited about it all night. I never thought I could be this excited about getting him to eat. When I saw his mouth open a little I was like...No way...this is awesome.

GREAT!!! I think I'd do the exact same thing next time, just to get one more meal in him. Then think about feeding normally.

Nanci. No. That was the one thing, I don't know, thought it was a little cruel to deprive him of water. But I don't think so now......I mean, I almost think he would have not eaten to death if it were not for this

Well, he could easily go a few days in the wild, during a drought. AND in captivity, while blue, they aren't out drinking, for over a week.

Yea I suppose. Just if I was thirsty, I would want water. So I just thought....Hey....why take away his water. But I realize that his feeding was more important than a couple days without water. Anyways it gives me great pleasure to see him on food again. Hopefully he takes next time. I'll let him go a month without food next spring, but then, straight to the water method

Scratch all that... now I don't know what to do. I got a regurge this morning. Flipping a-hole snake

What are your temperatures? (Warmest and coolest) they need a 95 degree hot spot. Also he probably wasn't moving much because he was digesting and touching him to get him to move may have caused stress.

You posted and messaged me on the 1st he ate. Today is only the 2nd and you messaged me and said you touched him because he wasn't moving and you thought he was dead. You should have left the viv alone completely for a good week. And you still didn't post what are your temperatures?

Oh ok I see you said you touched it before you fed it. Im sorry I didnt get that initially when I read your message.

My husband takes care of our hog more than me because I break out when it touches my skin (whatever it is they secrete that makes it smell dead). He said ours regurgitated once and I had forgotten about it but pir heating pad had come unplugged and he regurgitated a couple days later. We fixed the the temps and waited two weeks before feeding again.

Well.

I mean

If it hasn't eaten for months, and then I fed it a full size meal.
.
When I did a rice and beans 2 week fast.... I was told I need to slowly go back.on regular food.... not take full size meals. Maybe It's similar
