I just went to check on feeder colonies before I went to bed and saw this girl, she's gotta pop tonight.

and I thought this was going to be a butt muncher! till I looked at the section title.

Those are some preggers!!!

lol I love it when they look like that! Looks like she swallowed a golf ball! Babies should be born any second! lol

she held out on me last night although she did shred a bunch of newspaper and is making her own nest in one of the other corners so she should go tonight I think. I hope for her sake, she can barely walk around the cage, her belly bounces from side to side on the ground when she waddles around, lol.

My biggest litter (with none eaten) so far was 23! Mine average 12 or so but if there are bigger babies in the nest too the mothers cull pinks, so I'm wondering if 1.1 setups might mean more surviving pinks for me:shrugs:

So far I haven't had any females cull other mice babies or their own babies due to having others in the nest. Only one tank has culled off pinks and that was when I first started and forgot to feed a day, the mom took them down from 12 to 7 the first day. After that the culling stopped.

LOL I thought this was going to be about butt munchers too! The pictures are funny. Great thread title by the way.

I think they are so funny when they are wider than they are long- they wattle around, grab some food and head back to the nest
