Bigger house=more snakes!
on feeding, shedding, pooping. I just got my snake yesterday, he had been fed that day as well. I will be feeding him again on sunday. I have read on other threads that the snake will poo right after a meal. Is that to be expected, or does it take longer. Do they shed soon after a feed? What is the poo supposed to look like? A picture anyone? :grin01: Thanks, hope these aren't stupid questions.

Not stupid questions at all, but you should have asked them 2 days ago.:) It's suggested that you give your new animal 3 days, uninterupted, to get used to his new environment before handling or feeding. But since he's fed, give him 48 hours to digest his meal and if it's a little one, he'll probably poop in a couple-three days.

You need to let us know an age. Hatchlings will shed approx. monthly whereas adults about 4 to 5 times a year.

Welcome to the forum!
Pics?

I just ordered Kathy Love's Comp. Guide. :crazy02: Can't wait to get it. After I posted, he did poo so I got a chance to see it. He is about 3 months old.
Oh, and his name is Cheerio. I am so smitten. Temps in his tank are perfect. The lady I bought him from only fed him once a week, but I read on the Munson plan that he should be 4-5 days. We are leaving for the beach tomorrow, returning on Sunday. Tomorrow would be three days, so too soon to feed, right? What do ya'll think? He was fed on Sunday, do I feed tomorrow before we leave, or Sunday when we get back? :shrugs:

Sunday when you get back sounds fine. Often they don't do just one poo but a couple spread out over a few days. All the other questions have been answered really so no point in posting them again lol.

All the best

David

You know, In my experience snakes poop when ever they want. It could be 5 times a week or one big one every other week. There is nothing to worry about if your snake doesn't poop on schedule.

I had an adult poop on my floor last week - GRRRR!!! It took three rounds of cleaner and all night airing out the room to get rid of the smell!! As for "type" of poop - the best I can liken it to is raw egg white with baby turds in it....then when it hardens it reminds me of bird poop!

Haha, funny and a good description. I never let my snakes over anything I don't want poop on. I'll admit, I hate it when they poop on me. It happens, but I'm getting better at predicting and avoiding.

Just a little hint if you get snake poo on the floor or other furniture..The dog enzyme stuff works great after a once over with the steam cleaner;) I have had this happen more then once this summer with my little ones.

Sounds like you are on the right track and have lots of info already..Good luck and I love the name :) Can't wait to see some pics..I always will er on waiting on a feeding because most of the time if rushed you will just waste it they arent ready;)
