I see dead people ...

And that's trickle-down economics, something we learned to be a myth during Reagan's administration. We know it is bogus, but most republicans refuse to admit it, and cling to it as though it were a lifesaver. It didn't work in the 40's, it didn't work in the 80's, and I seriously doubt it would have worked in 2009. It just doesn't make sense to keep applying the same medicine to fix the same problem. You're bound to get the same outcome, and so far that outcome has never been good...
I think those trickle-down theorists/pundits/supporters need to always remember this:

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"

I don't know who said this but I heard a long time ago about how people used to fight and do what ever they had to to get off of government hand out programs, now people argue about which program gives them the largest turkey.

Isn't that the discussion we are having here? Everyone seems to be saying, why isn't the government doing more or giving me more or helping me. What happened to the Americans that did it for themselves? You remember them don't you? The ones that made their own way and were proud of it?

I'm a little ashamed of many of you.

What topic are you reading?

WHERE has ANYONE said "I want more, give me more, hand me more" in this topic?

This topic isn't about government programs like welfare or social services. This topic is about governmental regulations controlling big business, and the enforcement of those regulations.

You sure do have a knack for twisting things around. I'm a little ashamed of you, for taking a serious topic about government oversight and corporate regulatory practices, and trying to make it sound like something petty and unAmerican.

But don't worry, LeeW...I'll be sure to go to Wall St. first thing tomorrow morning and regulate those corporations all by myself, just like the Americans of days gone by. Giddy up, cowboy, let's ride!!

More like get a clue, cowboy...:poke:
