Impressive petstore.

Elusive

Totally irrelevent.
I went to a new pet store yesterday and I was very impressed with their reptile section, my family are fish freaks so they always go look at the fishes, then they spend 100 dollars on a rock with a little flower on it. I dont care much for that stuff... I went right to the reptile section first and I thought it would be just like most pet stores , 10 all bunched up together and they all have bad sheds and mites. But no, they have every single snake in its own container, with what type of snake it is and everything. Their cages were all clean, I didn't see any poo, I did not see any left over shed on any of the snakes. They had a big 10 foot burmese python in like a 90 gal tank (I think) and he was just roamin' around the tank. I'm very impressed with all the other lizards and turtles as such. They were all healthy! Some lizards were housed together, but I dont think that was too big of a problem. Actually, the burmese python had a little bit of shed left on his chin, I explained that to the worker in within 5-10 minutes they were all looking at the snake and they were thinking to take it out and put it in a bath, or mist the cage some more. They really do care about their snakes!
I want to go there again!

It's always refreshing to see a well kept pet store. The one in my town is great also. All the reptiles are well kept and always clean. Glad you had such a good experience.

DYK I have a favorite pet store too, it is called cold blooded pets & it is in southern ma.
I but all my feeders there & get all my snake talk that I crave in there.
DYK you can see the store here " www.coldbloodedpets.com"

Maybe somebody should start a thread of GOOD shops (and why they are good), and where they are located. Then ask it to be a "sticky" so everyone can continue to use it over time - if the mods think that is a good idea.

It really is nice to hear about somebody doing something RIGHT sometimes!

I agree completely, Kathy-

It sounds like a great place and it's very nice to hear about good stores! And it would be very nice to have one place to look at for good petstores!

Okay sorry for responding so slowly, its called 'The Aquarium' in Sandy Utah. They dont have a website, or any that I have found. I do have their adress though, and its the link below.

They mostly have fish stuff (hence, the name) but I like their reptile section the most :D. Wade, I bought some vines there and it was pretty awesome, its about 1.50 per foot and its not like that rubber stuff some people try to sell you for 24 dollars for four feet.

Another store I would suggest you go to (not to buy reptiles really) is Bird World in Bountiful, its super close to my home so I go there all the time to buy my supplies. Tons cheaper than petco. 30-40 gal mat in petco = 40 dollars. 30-40 gal mat in Bird World is 25 dollars. I usually go there to look at the fishes and buy supplies. Here's their adress.

They have many animals, but they specialize in the birds and the fish, they have a huge selection of fresh and salt water fish. I usually only go there to buy supplies and such, and since its so close to my house, its pretty handy.

I've been to that store--it is nice! That is where my folks live, and I dragged my brother to the store there. They let us hold some of the snakes, and my brother ended up buying a snake.

Thanks John, I'll look them up the next time I go north. I hope it's not soon. You guys keep the thermostat too low.
