Wow! That's so cool that he made such a personal note along with his book-signing. He's a giant in the milk/king/colubrid hobby. Very nice.

I met him at the Anaheim show and talked a little bit- also picked up a book from him. What a cool dude he is!

What grt photos! You take some of the best photos of your guys!
I think Inez has a higher IQ than me..lol

I'm about halfway through this book now. While not an "expert" by any means, I think I am pretty up on basic snake husbandry. That being said, this book has already taught me things about scientific nomenclature, breeding, brumation, shedding, difficult feeders, assist-feeding, and many more subjects. It's worth buying, and most of the information applies to corns as well as kingsnakes. I am _really_ enjoying it!

I know that, I am not well known here, but...
I once met the great Robert Applegate. It was NOT a good experience.
He came off as a total jerk. Maybe he was just having a bad day?:shrugs:
It really does not matter, it was a total let down, for me.
I would never purchase anything, he could or would make
money on from that day forward. :nope: Plenty of other breeders
and keepers out there!!

It's disappointing when you meet someone you have looked up to and find them not what you expected. This happened to my (adult) daughter when she met a very famous herp photographer/author. She was just brimming with questions and things to talk about, and he was not receptive. I've been fortunate- all the cornsnake legends I've met have more than lived up to their reputations, and all have been very friendly and down to earth.

I've only met him the one time myself, but my feeling is that he must have been having a bad day..
He was SO cool, even gave me a card and invited me and my GF to come out to his facilities for a visit- Which we have been to busy to take him up on unfortunately.. And that was after I told him I wasn't going to buy anything and was hoping he'd have gophers. DOH!! I didn't know he had lost his gopher snake groups in a fire..
If someone invites me out to the house after I put my foot in my mouth like that, he's pretty cool IMO.

And I agree Nanci, great book! Lots of cool pictures as well..
