My copy and paste explanation on specters:
Specter corns originated from a pair of Kathy Love's "special project" Naples ghosts that I purchased from her at the 2005 Daytona show.
I've been both consistently reproducing them as well as outcrossing them into other morphs. So far, I have proved them to be at least allelic with standard ghost corns (hypo+anery), but I'm also not ruling out any additional genes just yet.
Most have a very intense pink ground color (although it is difficult to capture in photographs), much like a salmon/coral ghost. However, specters also have thick BLACK borders on the saddles. Other characteristics include a waxy like shine, very saturated colors, bright yellow inside the saddles (much like Sunkisseds) and head markings that do not extend onto the neck. Some of my holdbacks even have olive green saddles.
Although they are pretty identical at hatching, I've also noticed another phenotype in this line that I named "Banshees". Like the matriarch of this line, these are very two-toned, high contrast corns, with deep chocolate-colored saddles on an ashy gray ground. Wether these are genetically different from the rest remains to be determined. My recent hypothesis is that these are redcoat versions.
