Introducing Anubis

[F]After quite awhile of debating and uncertainty, I FINALLY found a boa that I have fallen in love with

I purchased this little guy (CA Motley) on 3-14-12 from Lynn at Boas and Balls He was born on 6-5-11 and is about 17in long.

The night he came home!

Blurry, but you've gotta love tongue shots :crazy02:

He did end up stricking and missing after this shot

She was at the one I went to last year so I believe so! She has some truly amazing animals and took the time to answer all my newbie boa questions, as well as show me around her home (showed me her other reptiles). Great, great lady.

Sadly, I never got to visit her when I lived out there. However, she's always been one of the friendliest people you can ever meet! We took a picture in our ReptileGeeks pictures for points on that site a few years back (you know; when it was popular). I got to meet up with her again in Daytona this year, and she recognized me right away, even though I hadn't seen her in close to four years. She's a very good friend to have. :)

Update time! Anubis is adjusting somewhat well. He still is not thrilled with a camera in his face, but he's not biting me either. One problem is that he has only eaten twice since I brought him home. I am getting worried because his spine is becoming clear. Any suggestions?

He's stunning! Jealous...

As far as the eating issue, don't handle him more than necessary.. Make sure there's enough hides... Double-check temps... Watch for any signs of illness... And consider getting a fecal done to check for parasites. That's my $.02, anyway. :)

Thank you very much! Maybe if I just leave him alone for a few days. I've been handling him quite a bit (couldn't help myself)

Well, we solved the feeding problem. Mr. Special here will only eat live lol. Now that he's eating, he's gaining weight pretty fast (but not too fast) and is SO much more of a joy to handle.
