Can't Keep A Secret
I realized this week that I have been a member here for almost a year, and I've only ever shared photos of Reggie. Honestly, that makes sense, being that this is a cornsnake forum and all, but I do have a lot of pet babies!

First, the dog. His name is Morgan, and he's your generic "lab mix". He's about two years old now. We rescued him from the shelter when he was about 10 weeks old. He's always eager to please, a real cuddlebug, and brown eyes that make me melt every time.

Next, are the cats a.ka.a The Kitty-Boy Brothers. Also rescued from the shelter. They now three years old. We have a strong suspicion that there is some Bengal influence in their heritage somewhere. Ticheli is our "evil genius". He's the smartest cat I've ever met, and he doesn't always use his powers for good (he's the one that crashed through the screen of my viv, and also tore down a potted plant that was hanging from the ceiling). Whitacre is the cuddle-cat who finds laptop computers to be offensive, not quite as bright as his brother, but still pretty intelligent in his own right.

Whitacre wants to play drums (really, we named our Rock Band "Kitty Play Drums" because he will sit at the drumset all day)

Can you tell they are brothers? Lol!

The cats and the dog actually get along very well... most of the time. As you can see below, Morgan and Ticheli have an... interesting... working relationship.

*MORE COMING UP! -- Sugar Gliders!*

Last, but not least are the sugar gliders!

We'll start with Teller. He will be 4-5 years old this spring. He and his brother, Penn (who passed away two years ago unexpectedly and still unexplained), were our first pair of suggies. Teller is a quiet guy, though he's been coming more out of his shell lately.

Teller says "Hi!"

Next is Elphaba. After Penn died, we contacted the breeder and got another suggie pair, Elphaba and Fiyero (next), to keep Teller company. Elphaba is a fiery girl. She is afraid of NOTHING, and is convinced that the world was invented to cater to her every whim. She's a total sweetheart... as long as she's getting her way. Lol! She will be two this summer.

Next is Fiyero, who will also be two this summer. His coloring is called "white face" (Teller and Elphaba are standard coloring), and he is hands down the "fanciest" suggie we have. His nickname is "Shy Guy". He's been very slow to bond with us, though we are making progress. When we can convince him, he's very sweet and tame. He just prefers his critter company over humans most of the time.

Finally, we have Glinda. We ended up with Glinda because our breeder called us up at the end of 2008 to tell us she had ONE white-face suggie-girl left who wouldn't have a home for Christmas. Yes, we are suckers. :p Glinda is just over a year old now. Her personality is somwhere between Elphaba and Teller's... she likes to be where she can see/investigate everything, but she does have a defined comfort zone.

And that is our crew! (To include Reggie, of course, but I know you all have seen photos of him before. :))

Up until last year, I used to have rats all the time as well, and I will again. I just needed some time off from their short lifespans. So much personality for such a short length of time was becoming heartbreaking, but now that I haven't had any ratties around for a while, I am starting to realize how much I miss them.

Anyways, hope you all enjoyed the photos and the opportunity to "meet" the whole house of pets!

ughhhh right when i think i'm over getting sugar gliders, you go ahead and post these cute pictures! thanks alot... haha just kidding :) Quite the animal crew you have there! very nice pictures!

Nice pictures. beautiful looking and well cared for animals, obviously, by the pics. I love the sugar glider pics. I've never had any but they are the sweetest looking little creatures. Thanks for posting.

So cute! I love the sugar gliders, but I think my fav has to be the one of Morgan in his party hat. I'm a total sucker for animals wearing hats, hee!

Thanks! They can all be a handful, but I wouldn't have it any other way. :D

The suggies are fun little critters. A lot of hard work, but when you do everything right, it's totally worth it. :)

That photo was taken just before Morgan decided the hat was no fun, but the treats I was holding were way more interesting at first. :p

They're all so cute! The sugar gliders are just precious!

They really are one of the cutest animals on Earth! And with big personalities to match. :)

Nice family you have there! I love your cats, they are so handsome! I have only ever met one sugar glider in person, they are very cute critters.

You should get more rats! I have 8 and even though they don't live nearly long enough, I could never live with out them.

Beautiful photos of a beautiful family! Suggies are just so darn cute. My friend and I use to dream of going in together on one and letting it roam around her house (she had a tree inside, we thought it'd be perfect!)...we were 8 at the time, lol.

I love Ticheli's colors! And especially love the Ticheli/Morgan photo!

Thanks for the comments, everybody! If you couldn't tell, I'm very proud of my pet family. :D

I have been thinking more and more about getting new ratties... there is a local rescue that I used to adopt through almost exclusively, and every once in a while I still check their Petfinder listings. I've had about a dozen rats over the years (usually 2-4 at a time). It's been almost a year since my last ratty-girl passed away. Right now, though, the space has been replaced with Reggie's viv... and I need to get some other things figured out so that I can guarantee I'll have the time for ratties again.

If you want, I can post photos of my past ratty-kids for you. They may not be here with me anymore, but I can still brag on them. :p

OMGosh....I had this marked for WIR but I'm only just now seeing this thread! Now I wish I'd just come to your house yesterday. I've always wanted to see a sugar in person. You've got some adorable pets, girl!

Well, maybe we can figure something out another day. ;) It's a fun little family of furballs (try saying that five times fast!) that we have here, and I never mind showing them off. :D (The cats even like to show off on their own. They are real hams.)
