Is a 40 gallon tank to big for a 2 foot snake?

I know a 20 gallon cage is pretty acceptable for even a large grown adult, but I have a 40 gallon tank on my hands, in addition to the 20 gallon that my snake is currently in. I know that a small snake can get uncomfortable in a large cage, but provided he has 5 to 6 hides, 2 branches to climb on, a big water bowl and plenty of bedding, do you think he would do well in a 40 gallon tank?

I have my yearling in a 40 gallon. She does great, and if I am not mistaken, enjoys the space to roam around.

A few months. Just ate this morning - I feed a pinkie 2 times a week.

They don't have small cages in the wilds of Florida, and baby Corns seem to do just fine.

I am under the impression that it can be as large as you can maintain as long as you have a nice density of hides.
So...
Small snake, more space=more hides=satisfaction

Judging by the video, she looks just fine. I think as long as you provide enough hides, etc for the particular snake (some are more adventurous than others) then it works.

What's funny is that she would rather "hide" beside the logs than in the nice hides I made for her. But most of the time, she is just along the side of the tank, out in the open.
