Is my corn the right size?

I just weighed him today and he weighs in at 22 grams. Is this the normal size for a 3 month old corn? I feed him about every 5 days. Also, is the muson plan's mouse weights based on when they are frozen or when they are thawed?

The weight sounds quite good to me and I would imagine a mouse weighs the same frozen or defrosted.
I weigh while still frozen and because I have many snakes, I put all frozen prey items of same weight into bags, so that I can just grab from whichever bag has the correct size in for the snakes I'm feeding!

Hope that helps,

My Kathy Love Okeetee was 24 grams on February 21st of 2007 when I received her. She was hatched in May of 2006. So in 8 months my little one was only 2 grams more than your 3 month old…so I would say yours is doing great.

As of yesterday (feeding day), she weighed in at 213 grams in a little over a 1 year I have had her. I have followed to Munson Plan (thanks Dean) exclusively and have been very happy with the results.

I thaw mine in a cup of hot tap water and have noticed they will weigh a little bit more (.5 to .75 grams more) when thawed due to the water on their fur even after drying with a paper towel. I wouldn’t worry about that thought.

Like Susielea, I sort mine into different size vacuum sealed freezer bags when I buy them. They usually come in bags of 50 from the manufacturer and I’ll split them into bags of 2 gram increments each. For example I sorted a bag of adult mice from American Rodent Supply on Saturday. I ended up with bags with 19.00-20.99 gram mice, 21.00 – 22.99 grams, 23.00 to 24.99 grams and 25.00 – 26.99 grams.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Steve

I have no idea how much mine weighs.. he could probally break the scales, he is small but getting fatter!
