I have him in a 20 gallon zilla terrarium with 2 hides (1 rock hide + 1 banzai climbing tree hide), 1 plant and 1 water bowl. This tank has a locking mechanism built in and a pad lock hole at the front for added security. I have my snake on a desk in the corner of my dining room. My two 15-20 pound dogs are left to roam the house, but cannot access the snake or tank. Do you think this is safe enough for my new corn?
My main concern is that if he gets out and climbs down to the ground, the dogs could get to him. I am currently in the process of remodeling a room that I will be able to safely house the snake in, but for now is this ok? I make sure that the tank is always locked and the dogs have no idea about him and vice versa.
The warm side is kept at 82-89 degrees with a UTH and dimmer. I have a thermostat on the way though. His cool side is kept at 70-75, is this too cold? He is set up by a window. I live in Southern California and it ranges in the high seventies to low eighties this time of year where I live.
Thank you in advance for your input.
