I'm looking at getting a corn snake, first though I want to be sure that I have the living space properly setup.
I have a 12X12X18 exo-terra reptile terrarium setup with an under floor heater, two hides, a climbing branch, and I haven't place the water dish yet.
the humidity is ~44%
The temperature on the hot side on top of the substrate is 90F
The temperature in the hot side hide is 81.5F
The temperature on the cool side on top of the substrate is 78F
The temperature in the cool side hide (insulated) is 76F
I'm using a reptile moss substrate I have carpet, should I place that under the substrate to help drop the temp a bit? I'm planning to install a heat lamp above the hot side hide once I have the correct lamp for it. also, should I be adding moisture to increase the humidity and decrease the temp?
