Is popping a 4 month old okay??

It's okay to pop 'em right out of the egg, but make sure that you have someone experienced show you how to do it first. You don't want to hurt him/her!
 
Make sure its a store with some knowlagable reptile staff. Definitly do NOT go to a chain store like petco/petsmart since they have no clue. try a small mom and pop store with a nice reptile dept and ask a few questions first, you don't want someone practicing on your baby.

I would actually say that this depends on the store. The petco I worked at had people who were very knowledgeable about various animals. One girl was extremely knowledgeable about fish...fresh and salt. And there was someone who kept various reptiles himself and knew a lot about them.

It really depends on the people working there. I knew a lot about birds and could spit out various do's and dont's that most new to bird people wouldn't know. So I would just say call around and ask if there is anyone who knows how to pop and how long they have been doing it for etc...
 
LLL Reptile sexes snakes. Most reptile shop will probably do it for you as well for a small fee.
 
I am going to be at the Pomona show.. If your going to be there on Sat, I will pop it and tell you the sex.. i will show you how to pop the young ones too..
