It sure looks like one. Some close-ups would help but amel bloodred would be my first guess.
 
I think the easiest way to tell would be a belly pic...a bloodred wouldn't have checkers, and there should be red creeping into the belly.
 
yes he has an white ventral and his tail becomes red
there are no visual blotches on his dorsal

That is one beautifull animal. But to tell if this is a Bloodred you need to look at the belly.
