I was just wondering if i can feed my snake just on my bed or on a surface instead of another container. Also is it okay to thaw mice just on the top of the viv or should i use warm water? Thanks!!!!

letting them sit out to thaw is okay but using warm water is just much quicker and more convenient, any flat surface is good as long as it's clean and there's nothing small on it or around it that the snake could accidentally injest..I wouldn't let the snake eat on my bed...to messy and the smell from the mouse would be nasty to clean..Hope that answers some of your wonders :0):dancer:

Yeah, after feeding snakes in containers for a while, the containers definitely take on a dead-mousey smell. You wouldn't want that on your bed. I have a snake that will eat from my hand while hanging around my neck, though.

I wouldn't recommend letting it eat from the bed for a number of reasons.

1) You don't want your snake to start associating your bed with a place to eat. It may start to strike at you if you ever take it there.

2) What if your snake squeezes too hard and pops the mouse? Uck, all over your bed.

3) The smell, as people mentioned.

Just use a small container or a shoebox for a feeding place.
