Hi all I am a new mum to a lovely little butter called Ziggy. He hatched on the 1/8/2014 and I have had him for two weeks. He is a docile little thing and I think he likes to be handled ( he also likes to curl up down my tops lol). He eats great but always stays on the cool side even when digesting his food. His setup is a large faunarium with a heat mat that is connected to a habi stat I use two digital thermometers. The warm end sits at 85-86 during the day drops to 83-82 at night. The cool end sits 70 during the day and drops to 65 at night. His bedding is fine beech chips and he has two identical coconut hides one at each end. I know not to handle him for 48 hours after eating. I am worried that he will not be able to digest his food properly.

P.S
Sorry about the long text but I get over protective and worry about all my animals x:wavey:

Hi! There is no reason to change temps at different times of day. The 85° on the warm side will keep the cool side about 75° at night which is perfect.

Provide as many hides as possible, toilet paper tubes squashed flat on one end and angled into thee substrate makes a great cave and are disposable, lots of silk or plastic plants are great.

He will find the best place for him to feel comfortable digesting, so don't worry about that unless your temps are really off.

Let us know how it goes.
