Journals

Does anyone know if there is some kind of app or journal you can buy to keep track of your snakes progress and feeding schedules and all that? I'm just one of those that likes to keep track of EVERYTHING in case I need it as reference later on

A lot of us do that. It's really a good idea. Feedings, sheds, poops, cage cleanings, odd behaviors or problems..etc... Document all of it.

I just bought one of those Day Planners from WalMart. It's good for a whole year and I enter all the important info. When the year is up, I'll just buy another one.

Don't know much about phone apps, I don't use them, but I'm sure you could also do the same thing with a Computer calendar.

There are a number of apps out there but I and a lot of other members use iHerp, it's an internet based tracker, can't speak for the other types. iHerp's biggest pro is also it's biggest con. On the pro side, as long as you have an internet connection, you can access it from anywhere, on any device, even someone else's device. On the con side, you can't access it without an internet connection or while it's getting an update or work done on it, which at least doesn't happen often or for very long.

I use a plain Excel file to record all Karl has said. I have an "introduction" page with all of Naga's data: sex, birth or a yearly picture, and then I have a tab for every year: months in columns and days in rows. You could also make it on Google Drive to access it everywhere as with iHerp.

If you're on iPhone there's an app called snakekeeper that you can use, free for tracking one snake but if you have more snakes you need to pay [emoji4]

I don't have an app or use anything online for this ... yet! But I do try to keep track at least a little bit of what's going on. I do it 'old school' with a form I did myself and just print off copies. --- of course, with this form, not everything is filled in each time. I may just fill in the date, and then one item, like 'length' if I had just measured him. It's very user friendly.

I use Snakekeeper. For the record, it's $2.99 to upgrade for multiple snakes.

What I love about it is that it will put feeding reminders right on your calendar. It also has a handy statistics section and shows the date of last feeding on the home screen of the app.

Though they are not as important and you can't even always find a snake's poo, it does not export poo records. It does export weight, length, feeding and shed records.

The exported records can be put in any spreadsheet.

No matter how you do it, the important thing is to find what works for you and to keep the records.
